Happy Holidays, reindeer!
Mikhail Kalashnikov (1919-2013)
"(...) The AK-47, or Kalashnikov, is the world's most popular assault rifle, a weapon all fighters love. An elegantly simple nine pound amalgamation of forged steel and plywood, it doesn't break, jam, or overheat. It will shoot whether it's covered in mud or filled with sand. It's so easy even a child can use it, and they do. The Soviets put the gun on a coin, Mozambique put it on their flag". (Lord of War, 2005)
The AK-47 is yet considered the cheapest and most powerful weapon of mass destruction.
Last week my image for the contest by Tapirulan, theme "Eden", was awarded the Prize of the Jury and included in the Tapirulan Calendar 2014. Even if I had a bad cold, I went to Cremona to see the beautiful exhibition of all the works selected and the very unusual award ceremony. Here's the link http://www.tapirulan.it/concorso-calendario/450/451/post/480 with several pictures.
Thanks to the association, to the jury and to everyone who was there.
My header for PICAME (www.picame.org), an Italian web magazine devoted to visual arts. Here's the article about me: http://www.picamemag.com/davide-bonazzi/
They gave me free reign to do what I want, so I chose a mix of two of my favourite subjects: dinosaurs and the New York City Subway trains.
Recent works and news from my illustrator activity.
