Double page illustration for Arizona Highways about the discovery of ancient flutes in caves on the Navajo and Hopi lands in Northern Arizona. Some well known musicians have taken an interest in them, spurring a resurgence in bringing back a tradition that was taken away when the tribes were being assimilated into American culture.

Three illustrations for Arizona Highways about the Exodus Trail: in 1875, both the Yavapai and the Apache people were removed from their Rio Verde reservation in Arizona and force-marched by U.S. soldiers in terrible conditions, nearly 200 miles, to the barren desert of San Carlos. In December 2016, a group of hikers walked the same trail and mapped it with GPS. Thanks to AD Keith Whitney for the great assignment.
