Moschino: Live painting in Milan

Last week I was in Milan at the opening of SEMINA 2024. Ten artworks of mine have been beautifully reinterpreted as flower carpets by the Associazione Maestri Infioratori di Noto, and I also made a live painting performance at the Moschino store, main partner of the event. Here’s an extract of what I did.
Unlike the rest of Italy, Milan has been quite rainy in this early summer, so I tried to bring some colors there!

The Pilgrim Road

This piece is my contribution to the exhibition IN CAMMINO held at the prestigious Palazzo Madama in Turin, Italy (July 12 - October 13, 2023). The project tells stories from the Piedmont area crossed by the Via Francigena, the ancient road and pilgrimage route running from the cathedral city of Canterbury in England, through France and Switzerland, to Rome.
I represented the pilgrimage route like the thread of a ball of yarn that the pilgrim carries with him on his journey. The tangle represents the many kinds of motivations behind the pilgrimage: spiritual, devotional, sometimes even penitential, as it was originally in the Middle Ages. Proceeding on the journey, the skein gradually unravels until it completely dissolves at the end of the pilgrimage.

Tote bag for Viaggeria Bookshop

Illustration for bookshop Viaggeria, based in Trento, Italy. It represents the most iconic landmarks of the city, which rises at the foot of the Italian Alps. It's been silk-screen printed in five colors on tote bags by Frammenti.

Poster illustrations for 'Il Giorno' and 'Il Resto del Carlino'

I've been asked by Italian publishing group QN Quotidiano Nazionale to create a couple of poster illustrations and logotypes celebrating the iconic landmarks of Milan and Bologna. The posters have been released by the local newspapers Il Giorno and Il Resto del Carlino on December 7 and 8, 2022.

The logos merge the traditional foods with the most popular monuments of the two cities: Panettone and Cathedral (Duomo) for Milan; Tortellino and Two Towers for Bologna.
