This piece is my contribution to the exhibition IN CAMMINO held at the prestigious Palazzo Madama in Turin, Italy (July 12 - October 13, 2023). The project tells stories from the Piedmont area crossed by the Via Francigena, the ancient road and pilgrimage route running from the cathedral city of Canterbury in England, through France and Switzerland, to Rome.
I represented the pilgrimage route like the thread of a ball of yarn that the pilgrim carries with him on his journey. The tangle represents the many kinds of motivations behind the pilgrimage: spiritual, devotional, sometimes even penitential, as it was originally in the Middle Ages. Proceeding on the journey, the skein gradually unravels until it completely dissolves at the end of the pilgrimage. Thanks to Ale Giorgini and to Professor Villa, director of Palazzo Madama, for having me involved me in this project! Cover illustration for the new book by Borghingordi, a couple of young influencers who travels across Italy and shares tips and fun facts about the places they visit. Published by Sonzogno Editore.
Latest book cover illustration for François Morlupi's Formule mortali (Deadly Formulas), a crime novel set in Rome about an unconventional detective called upon to solve a series of ritual homicides. Published in Italy by Salani. Thanks to AD Stefano Izzo! The following is one of the rejected color comps.
Three illustrations for Internazionale magazine: the first chapter of Karen Jennings' "An Island", a novel of a young refugee washes up unconscious on the beach of a small island inhabited by no one but an old lighthouse keeper.
Latest book cover illustration for Codice Edizioni: Joshua Cohen's The Netanyahus, which was awarded the 2022 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction. It's my third book cover illustration after Four New Messages and Book of Numbers.
This week on Internazionale, seven illustrations for the short story "The Dead Hand of Mr. Barati", by the Iranian writer Mahsa Mohebali. Thanks to director Giovanni De Mauro, as always!

Three book cover illustrations of Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy for Italian publisher Einaudi, released on the occasion of the 700th anniversary of the death of the author.
Thanks to Art Directors Monica Aldi and Jara Mavrides! Latest cover illustration for Codice Edizioni: "Tutti i nomi di Dio" (Italian edition of All the Names They Used for God) by Anjali Sachdeva. A collection of stories that break down genre barriers - from science fiction to American Gothic to magical realism to horror - and are united by each character’s brutal struggle with fate.
Thanks to Enrico Casadei and Silvia Virgillo/Puntuale, as always. This year I had the pleasure to illustrate the prestigious Calendar 2021 of Internazionale.
